Gymnasts compete in Gillette

(wyopreps.com) -- A South Dakota school topped six Wyoming schools Saturday, as Gillette hosted the Rick Mills Memorial Gymnastics Invite.

Rapid City Stevens five gymnasts combined to win three of the four apparatus’ as a team and totaled 100.125 points in winning the meet. Gillette was second almost 5.5 points behind at 94.700. Rock Springs finished a close third with 92.700. Douglas was fourth, followed by Worland, Natrona and Kelly Walsh.

Stevens’ gymnast Jenna Schroeder posted the best score on three apparatus and won the all-around title with a total score of 36.575. Her individual wins came in the vault, uneven parallel bars and balance beam. NC’s Kaitlyn Balfour was second in the all-around competition with a score of 33.575, while Gillette’s Toni Bath, who captured the floor exercise, took third with a combined score of 32.775.
