The Riverton Wolverines have a new football coach. After the recommendation of the hiring committee and Athletic Director Keith Bauder, the Riverton school board approved Jeremy McCormick from Colorado as just the third coach in the last fifteen years.
McCormick has coached for ten years with the last six being the head coach at Paonia High School. He’s taken his team to the Colorado playoffs the past four years. He was also the head basketball coach for a time at the same school.
Jeremy was the Colorado Coach of the Year in his division in 2005. He got his B.S. degree from Mesa State and holds a Masters Degree in Math.
McCormick was also the top candidate out of a dozen for a math position at the high school.
The Wolverines last made the playoffs in 2004 where they lost in the semi finals to eventual 5A Champion Green River. Riverton has finished with only 3 wins in the last three seasons after going 0-8 in 2005.
Bauder is also looking for a head tennis coach, an assistant girls swimming, freshman boys and JV girls basketball and an unknown amount of football assistant openings.
Lander and Wyoming Indian are also looking for head football coaches and should have their positions finalized soon.
