Former Wyopreps and Wyoming Cowboys Wade Betschart and Casey Bramlet have signed to attened a mini-camp for the National Football League's San Diego Chargers.
Betschart, who was a Senior tight end for the Pokes last season went to school in Torrington. The 6'3 250 pounder caught 32 passes for 296 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season for Wyoming. His best game of the season came in the second week against the Utah State Aggies with 5 catches for 65 yards. Betschart had 146 recieving yards his Junior year at UW. Equally as important in the Cowboys offensive scheme, Betschart was a tremendous blocker.
Wheatland native and former Wyoming quarterback Casey Bramlet was also signed. Bramlet was drafted out of Wyo in the 2004 NFL Draft to the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2007 Bramlet went overseas where he played in NFL Europe for the Hamburg Sea Devils and lead his team to a World Bowl XV Championship and picked up the MVP award. Bramlet has also had short stays with the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons, and Miami Dolphis.
Former University of Wyoming punter Billy Vinnedge has also been signed to San Diego's mini camp.
The trio will join another former Poke in Malcom Floyd who will enter his 4th season in the NFL with the Chargers this season. The 6-5 225lb WR from Sacramento, CA was also picked up as a free agent in 2004.
