Riverton lost three of four games in Park County on Tuesday and Wednesday. After a double header sweep by Cody, the Raiders managed a split with Powell on Wednesday night. They now sit at 18 and 22 with one tie on the season. The Roy Peck Invite has been cancelled for this weekend and the Raiders return to the field next week with their final two home dates against Sheridan and Green River.

Game One

Riverton starter Matt Raymond had a solid effort striking out 6 Pioneer batters and allowing just 2 hits on 3 runs. Raymond would suffer an arm injury in the 4th inning and the flood gates opened after that. Trevor Wilson came on in relief and allowed 4 runs in the 4th inning and 5 runs in the 5th.

Riverton's first and only run came in the top of the first inning thanks to a Doss Winter RBI single to the right side of the infield scoring Tyler Larsen. Powell's scoring began in the bottom of the 1st inning thanks to a Scotty Jameson triple scoring Gianluca Giarizzo. Jameson would trot home after a throwing error to take the lead for good.

In the fourth inning Powell got runs on an Andrew Young RBI single, a Gianluca Giarizzo infield hit, a wild pitch, and a throwing error to score four runs on five hits. In the fifth they got runs from Tyler Dahlgren Scotty Jameson, and a 2 RBI double from Gianluca Giarizzo to force the ten-run mercy rule in the fifth and give Powell the win.

Pioneer pitcher Scotty Jameson then retired twelve Raiders in a row. Jameson allowed just one run on one hit and only one walk.

Game Two

Tyler Larsen pitched the entire game and won it 13 to 9. He also helped his own cause with a pair of doubles.

In all, Riverton pounded out 15 hits and left 9 on the bases. Powell had a dozen hits and left 12 on.

Trevor Wilson hit a homer, his 14th, and had 4 RBI. Doss Winter also had a home run and 4 RBI. Greg Tenlen had 2 RBI while the defense turned three double plays, one of which was unassisted by Trevor Wilson.

Riverton had three dates left, two of which are at home. They are slated to play Sheridan and Green River at home and then Worland on the road next week to close out the regular season.
