Lander Valley High School standout Eric "Hoopie" Ragan will continue his basketball and golf career at Grinell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
Ragan was a part of the 3A state championship for Lander this season and was an all conference winner this season as well. Ragan is the all time career leader in steals at LVHS with 171 in his three years of varsity action. Hoopie was also 2nd in all time career asssists at Lander with 465 and 2nd in 3 pointers made with 177.
Ragan will also play golf for the Pioneers. He helped lead his Tigers to back to back golf state championships the past two seasons and was named Lander's outstanding golfer for the 07-08 season.
Ragan was also an outstanding athlete in track and won a state championship in the 3200 meter relay. He also took a third place finish in the 1600 meter relay, fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, and fifth in the 400 meter hurdle relay.
Eric was a state finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award and the NHSAA Spirit of Sport Award Section 8 Winner. He also excels outside of the athletic scene with a 4.0 GPA and is student body president, not to mention a full slate of of volunteer work in the community.
