(/)

Day one of state 3A girls and boys soccer featured a number of blowouts. In large part due to the fact that every team from the class made the tournament this year.

The 3A boys began the day with the biggest blowout as Cody scored reached double digits to beat Newcastle 10-0. Worland edged Lander 2-1 on the other side of the bracket. Jackson took care of Torrington with little trouble winning 6-0 and Buffalo raced past Powell 4-1.

Semi-final games coming up Friday include Cody Vs. Worland and Jackson Vs. Buffalo. Both of those games are set for 4:30 from Laramie with the winners playing for a state championship Saturday at noon. Newcastle plays Lander and Torrington takes on Powell at 2:00PM in the consolation round.

The 3A girls also began with a huge blowout as Jackson crushed Torrington 9-0. Cody blanked Lander 1-0 in the other 9:00AM game. Worland would beat Newcastle 1-0 as well on the bottom half of the bracket. Finally, Buffalo crushed Powell 5-0.

Jackson will play Cody and Worland moves on to play Buffalo in the semi-final round Friday at 11:30AM. Torrington plays Lander and Newcastle goes against Powell in a pair of 9:00AM consolation games to open up the tournament Friday.
