After two records were broken in the morning session of State Track 08, another three were broken or tied in the afternoon portion.

Newcastle Junior Taylor Farella beat the 3A field in the long jump by over a foot. Her jump of 18-01.5 was enough to win by a large margin AND break the 3A State record set by Wheatland's Angie Hellbaum (17-09.5 in 2004). For Farella, it is her second straight 3A long jump Championship.

This year, Moore went 19-02.25 to break that record and win the 4A girls long jump for her third straight year. It will be exciting to see just how far she goes next year as a Senior.
