State soccer day two is complete from the University of Wyoming in Laramie and all four state championship match-ups are set.
In class 3A girls soccer the big game kicks off the quad of championships in a row tomorrow at 10:00AM. Jackson will play Worland in the big game. Jackson has not allowed a goal yet in the tournament and has out-scored opponents 12-0 by beating Torrington 9-0 in day one and Cody 3-0 in the semi's. Worland defeated Newcastle 1-0 and edged heavily favored Buffalo 2-1 to make a bit of a surprise run to the title game.
The 3A girls third place game will be at 9:00AM Saturday as Cody plays Buffalo, the consolation game is between Lander and Newcastle and also kicks off at 9:00AM.
The 3A boys championship will be up next and feature Cody and Buffalo. Cody has had an easy time getting to the big game defeating Newcastle 10-0 in the first round and Worland 4-1 in the second. Buffalo beat Powell 4-1 in the opening round and edged Jackson in an intense game 2-1 Friday. Action is set for high noon in Laramie for the game.
The third place game features Worland and Jackson, that goes at 11:00AM. Lander will play Powell at 11:00AM as well for a consolation championship.
4A girls championship action begins at 2:00PM as Cheyenne East plays Laramie at UW. Laramie has been the odd's on favorite to win the entire thing and in one of the latest Wyopreps.com quick poll's 50% of over 100 votes took Laramie to win a championshp. They will play a tough Cheyenne East team however who has a pair of 2-1 victories in the tournament thus far over Kelly Walsh and riavls Cheyenne Central. Laramie out-scored opponents 10-0 in the first two rounds beating the Rock Springs Lady Tigers 6-0 and Natrona 4-0 Friday night.
The ladies third place game is between Cheyenne Central and Natrona at 9:00AM and the consolation championship will be between regional champion Kelly Walsh and Gillette also at 9:00AM Saturday.
Finally, the last game for prep soccer in the post season comes down to a pair of regional champions. The 4A boys match-up will be Kelly Walsh versus Laramie at 4:00PM. KW beat Gillette 2-0 and Cheyenne East 4-1 in the first two rounds. Laramie beat Green River 2-0 and edged Cheyenne Central 1-0 to get there.
The 4A boys third place game will have a Cheyenne showdown as East and Central end their seasons at 11:00AM and the consolation championship is between Gillette and Green River also at 11:00AM.
