There are not two, but three state track and field champions in class 2A this year.

A tie for the top spot between Guernsey-Sunrise and Wind River gave the Vikings and Cougars a co-championship. Both schools battled until the final race. The Cougars had a slight lead, but a Vikings first place finish and a Cougar third place finish pulled Guernsey-Sunrise even to force the tie with both teams getting 91 total points. Lusk was third at 74 points.

The Lingle Ft.-Laramie girls didn't leave any room for a tie with 166.5 total points for their second straight track championship. Lingle has now won four straight State Track Titles. They won in 2005 in 2A. Then won 06 and 07 in 1A and now are champions again in 2A. They have won 7 track titles in the last 14 years and are one of only seven schools to ever four-peat as champs. The Lady Doggers were followed by Mountain View at 137 points, and Sundance was a distant third.
