Burlington's Spencer Flores finds daylight and scores the game winning touchdown for the Huskies.
Huskies pull the upset in Wyopreps' game of the week.
2008 could be known as the year of the PAT. It seems nearly each week, several games are decided by a missed or made kick or conversion after scores.
Cokeville lead 6-0 at halftime. Dallin Fiscus scored on a 3 yard carry after a 14 play 75 yard drive. The Panther PAT was blocked by the Huskies.
Burlington mounted a drive near the end of the half but a pass fell to the cold, wet turf in the endzone as time expired on the first half.
Burlington scored on a Spencer Flores 8 yard run in the second half. They capped it with the PAT for their first ever win over the Panthers.
Flores ended with 90 yards rushing and a whole bunch more on kick and punt returns. The Huskies are 5-1 overall while Cokeville drops to 4-1.
Game Story
This week's Game of the Week takes us to Burlington where the third ranked Huskies entertain #1 Cokeville.
Not only is this a batttle between top ranked teams, but, its a conference clash that could well decide homefield advantage through most if not all of the playoffs.
Over the years there isn't a more storied football town than Cokeville. According to Wyoming-Football.com the Panthers have won 339 nine games since 1951. With only 129 losses and five ties, they have a winning percentage of 72.4%. Runner up in that category is another Lincoln County team as Star Valley sports a 66% winning tradition.
The teams have met eight times since 1986. Cokeville has won all of them. The Huskies haven't scored on the Panthers in the last two games falling 19-0 and 28-0.
Common opponents this year include Wyoming Indian and Hanna. Burlington beat the Chiefs 13-0 while Cokeville shut them out 42-0. Against Hanna, the Huskies won 40-0 while Cokeville won 46 to 0.
Cokeville has a win over 3A Mountain View while Burlington is 1-1 vs. 2A teams losing to Rocky Mountain, but, beating 2A defending champions Riverside just last week. The Panthers have shut out their last two opponents and have held three of their four teams scoreless. Burlington has two shut outs to their credit, one was Hanna, the other was the current #4 team Hulett.
Cokeville is 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the 1A West. They rank #1 in the latest WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Poll. The Huskies are #3 and are 4-1 on the season, 2-0 in the division.
After about 210 miles of travel for Cokeville, kick off is slated for 1 pm in Burlington.

hows this, Burlington 7 Cokeville 6 Spencer Flores 5 yd td at the end of the third, shawn christiansen kick is good on a very high snap handled well by Wiles. Cokeville led at the half 6 to 0 but Eric McNiven blocked their xpt try. Great defensive game

The Oil Bowl is alway good, but, hard to get around Green River vs East for the #1 seed in the South 5A.
Week 8 has Burns vs. Lusk, too, that should be good for the #1 in the 2A East.
What other games are big?
